Favorite Book

Dixie has gotten more and more into books. She hasn't wanted to sit and have us read to her...correction, she hasn't wanted to sit and have ME read to her. But Daddy can read the SAME book over and over and over again. At least that's how it was today. It was so cute how she wanted him to read the book to her. I had to get it on video.

Snow Suit

A few months ago I bought Dixie a snow suit. It has been pretty huge on her and it's really been sitting at the babysitters for when they go out. Since I figured it would snow this week and I'm off work, I brought it home. Today was the first time she's worn it with me. Sorry the video isn't great and she's cut off most of the time. Still getting used to my awesome camera. At the end she falls down and she seriously laid on the ground looking up, almost content for a whole minute.

This one's for you Nana

I took a few pictures of Dixie wearing the new vest Nana and Papa sent her. She didn't want to cooperate so well so I did a video as well. :)

The Crazy Baby

Dixie definitely keeps us busy. Anytime the cupboards, fridge or dishwasher are open, you've never seen a baby move so fast. She always tries to get in or pull things out. I finally let her climb in the cupboard Christmas Eve. She also has gotten her first baby dolls. I was cleaning out some of my storage stuff and found my favorite baby doll. I remember getting it for Christmas when we lived in a rented house in Oklahoma. She loves carrying her around by her hair. She's also started biting the other dolls heads. She tried that with a six month old little girl at church yesterday. That didn't go over too well.

Merry Christmas!

We hope everyone had a fabulous Christmas! We had a great one. We had so much fun getting gifts for each other and the kids this year. Paul got me so many great things. I finally got a table cloth that fits the table! And the XMen trilogy...been wanting that since I was still in college. Also got two games Lost Cities and Say Anything. Last, but not least, I got a video camera! It's great! It's small enough to fit in my purse and take around with me. So I have 2 videos to share.

Here's our first video. Sadly missed Dixie opening presents because the camera battery needed to be charged. She had the most of everyone with lots of books, some clothes and toys. Also got some diapers...thanks Aunt RaNae!

Santa brought Jackson a bike. He's been riding it like crazy.

We wish you all a Happy New Year!

Santa

Well Dixie is normally pretty good natured. She also usually takes naps during the day. Turns out last Wednesday she didn't nap at all so when we attended my work party she was already crying in the line to see Santa. So I guess most have a picture like this, here's mine.

Christmas Program

Last Tuesday Jackson had his 1st Grade Christmas Program. We were in the waaaaaay back and I forgot my camera so these pictures are a little sucky due to using my blackberry. The kids had on pajamas and night caps. They did The Night Before Christmas. Dixie was so good and loved seeing the kids perform. She's started pointing and did that for most of it.

7 Years Old

Jackson turned 7 last week and I'm just a little late getting it posted. He got a camera from his mom and brought it to our party so the pictures and videos are from that. We decided to try just our family this year since we've had parties every year otherwise. We bought him a board game called Heroscape and he loves it. It's great since it's 2 player and he can play with Daddy all he wants. It's also great because it has a simplified version and a more complex version so he can grow with it. We also got him the first 3 books of the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series. He was so excited for them both. Nana and Papa sent a few books and Grandma and Grandpa gave him Checkers. We had a nice time. Happy Birthday Jackson!

Enjoying playing with Daddy

WALKING!

Last week Dixie took her first steps. This week she just keeps taking more and more of them! I finally caught it on video today. She's just growing so fast and I'm having so much fun with it! I hope you all enjoy this.

California Trip

This past weekend Dixie and I made our first trip on an airplane and headed to warm and sunny California. She did really well on the planes and I didn't even drug her up. ;) It was so nice to see my sis and BFF for a few days and to sleep. No really, I fell asleep at 9pm almost every night. Sad I know, but baby girl thought 4am was a good wake up time. The only pics I got were at the beach. She LOVED it. She actually threw a fit because I wouldn't let her sit in the wet sand and play in the water (I came unprepared to change her!). She also freaked when we were leaving. She just splashed her feet like crazy as the tide came in. I've got a water baby. Of course that makes Mama proud.

Sitting in the sand

Wait, what is this sticking to my hand?

Cute shot of Aunt K and Dixie

Being rescued (probably against her will) as the tide came in

Video, excuse my yelling, I just got a little excited!

To My Wonderful Husband and Those Who Have Served

I love my husband. He's my best friend. He listens to me whine and complain, but also is genuinely interested in everything about me. One thing that I love about him is that he is passionate. If he chooses to do something, before making that choice he thoroughly investigates it. He will tear it apart until he is certain that the pros outweigh the cons and that it is something he wants to go for. He felt passionately about serving his country. And so he did. He excelled in his field and served honorably and nobly. This I love about him. I also love that he got out so that we could meet, fall in love, get married, have a baby...etc. But he served his country well.
In a few hours, it will be tomorrow. And tomorrow is Veteran's Day. It is a day to honor those who have served, those who are serving and those who have given the ultimate sacrifice. I give thanks to those just mentioned. Because I get to live in a land of freedom. Thanks to my two Grandpas, thanks to uncles and cousins, and mostly thanks to my husband. He is a great man whom I love dearly. I am proud to be your wife.

Halloween

Every year at my work there is a Halloween Extravaganza. EVERYONE is required to work and it is either on a Friday or Saturday night. I'm pretty sure this is why I really don't like Halloween. But I still dressed up and Paul brought Dixie in her costume and we made it through the night. Jackson didn't get to come to the party but he did get to go Trick or Treating for a little bit. It was pouring rain so we went to the mall. It was alright, hopefully we'll have better weather next year. Here are some pictures.

Dixie, Grandpa and Jackson

Dixie at the party actually in her costume

Switched to PJ's before heading home with Daddy got a pic with Cosmo.

I guess the "big" Jazz bear had a previous engagement so they sent the "little" one. He was pretty funny.

Some New Pics of Our Cute Kids

My mom has been bugging me to get some pictures of the kids so she can put them up in her house. I had some ideas of where to take them, but alas, it has been raining. Since her camera is much better than mine, I wanted to use it. We got some cute pictures of them. The second picture kind of tells true feelings about it. But they were good sports on the front porch. Even when the ones we took were at the wrong angle and we had to do it again.

NO ONE can make Dixie smile or laugh like her older brother. They love each other so much.

A little annoyed, yet still good sports

Huh?

My favorite. She's watching her brother and just laughing like crazy while he acts like a crazy man.

Welcome Home Elder and Sister McBee

Paul's parents returned from their mission to the Florida Tallahassee Mission at the beginning of the month. They got to meet Dixie finally and we are so happy they are back. They enjoyed their time serving but I think they are glad to be back too like most missionaries. My SIL made a quilt for them and we all contributed a square. I'm not so creative so my square was puff painted "A House Divided" with Alabama and Oklahoma and our names. The quilt turned out so well, I was very impressed. Mostly cause I can't sew a straight line to save my life, let alone a whole quilt. To go along with the quilt, we wore our respective teams to the family get together. Girls in Oklahoma, boys in Alabama.

What happens when Dixie helps me weed...

I mean look at that face. How can you not LOVE this girl. Even if she does eat dirt while I am pulling weeds. Mind you, she has a piece a bark tucked away in a cheek at this moment that I got to dig out once we got in the shower. She loves the water so much I decided that today I would let her play in the bath after I was done showering. She loves splashing around and started clapping yesterday. I got it on video. Since she was in the bath I apologize for the brief bum shots. She's just so dang cute!

Standing

Well yesterday I was visiting my sweet aunt Cindy and she was helping me get some stuff done for Dixie's crib. She has a little boy who is 3 months. Dixie was so cute with Wesley. Especially when she was trying to sit on his head or rip his toys out of his hands. Luckily Wesley has some fight in him and doesn't let a cute girl just take anything from him. He held on tight and she gave up. Anyways, for the first time she did some standing on her own. She's getting really good and controlled sit downs rather than falling or a big plop. She got brave there and stood for a bit and was doing it again this morning while I was doing dishes. I can't believe it. She is just so much fun! Here are some pictures for fun.

Getting Dixie dressed is like a wrestling match. This is how a onesie looks most of the time until I can pin her to put it on all the way.

She's eating some food now and actually swallowing really well.

Just hanging out this morning.

Lately

Oh there are so many things that have been going on. Dixie is 6 months old now. She crawls like crazy, likes to pull herself up and walk along furniture, likes to fall down and bonk her head about 30 times a day and is just all around the cutest girl I have ever met. She has such a fun personality. Jackson started 1st grade last week and so far he's liking it. He told us his teacher "laughs a lot...like a kid" so I guess he likes her. We will meet her on Thursday at Back to School Night so I guess I'll find out how much she laughs. We had fun this summer and had Jackson for a whole week. We hung out at home most of the time but other than that we did some swimming and as much stuff for free that we possibly could do. We moved this month too into a home and we love having our own place. Dixie got a new babysitter close to home in Provo and she loves it there. She's the only baby which I love and all the kids cheer and yell her name when we walk in there in the morning. I have included a few pictures of our adventures this summer and just the cute kids. The first pictures are at the Lindon City Pool, then Jackson at Foam Day in Lehi and the last few are from our 4th of July celebration at Aunt BB's house. That is cousin Amber holding Dixie, she can't get enough of holding her. I have a feeling she'll be a great babysitter in a few years.

Swimming

So I am terrible at taking pictures during "BIG" moments, like Dixie's first time swimming. Of course I remember to bring the camera and did take a picture, after I had taken her suit off! She's been 3 times so far and had a chance to try out her 3 swim suits. She's not quite sure what to do with the water just yet but her eyes light up with the big bucket. Here's a picture of her all wrapped up!
