Baby News

Yesterday I had a doctors appointment. I am on the 2 week schedule now. In 2 weeks I will have my last ultra sound to see how big Gracie is and to make sure she's getting into position. It seems like this pregnancy has been so much harder than the first. My friend Kalli said her doctor said that usually the second is the hardest. I was a little bit more sick, I've been WAY more uncomfortable and I have had 2 colds so far. But I am sure that having a 2 year old also makes it a bit harder. She wants to be held...regardless if I have any space in my mid region to hold her comfortably. She wants to play "gotcha" (her version of tag) which involves a lot of running. And I don't get to rest as much as I did when I was pregnant with her. I am getting excited to meet our little girl and for Dixie to be a big sister. I am hoping she transitions well and that we have minimal problems. Overall, though, I am lucky in that I don't have really hard pregnancies and sometimes I feel like a whiner when I know some women have it pretty tough. So if you read my blog and you've had it tougher than me...excuse the whining. :) Less than 2 months folks...well hopefully!

Happy 2nd Birthday to my Baby Girl!

Has it really been 2 whole years since I held this new baby in my arms?! I can't believe that in just a few months she'll be a big sister. Some of my favorite things about Dixie include:
  • The sweet saying "ov you" when we leave
  • When you ask her to do something (sometimes for the 50th time) she sweetly answers "Otay"
  • Having the most contagious laugh ever
  • When she settles down and gives hugs and kisses
  • So many many more!

Here are some pictures from her actual birthday. We celebrated small with the 3 of us. Jackson called and sang her Happy Birthday from Brazil. It was a great day!

Getting ready for a walk. She insisted on wearing Daddy's hat on the walk.

Sitting in Grandma and Grandpa's gift wearing Nana and Papa's gift. She loves to sit her new chair as close to the bookshelf as possible. We had a few tumbles that first night. She still gets stuck in there but refuses to move the chair back. She's independent for sure. She gets that from her Daddy! ;)

Getting ready to open the present from Aunt Jana and Uncle John. We're saving the Big Sister shirt for when Gracie comes.

A shot of her in the new jammies. I am pretty sure these are boys jammies but she loved that they had lions on it and they actually fit her better than the girl monkey ones. She's holding some fake fruit or vegetable we gave her to go along with her new "kitchen" set from my aunt RaNae.

Monster cupcakes. I got the idea off of Pintrest. I'm not as creative as the ladies that originally posted it, but I still think they turned out pretty cute. Dixie didn't love them...she must be too young still. I'm sure Jackson would've eaten 10 if we let him.

Just after she blew out her candle. She barely touched the cupcake but she'd been eating candy so I'm not super surprised.

Love my baby girl! Even if she's not so much of a baby anymore.
