Another Day Another Update

It's a funny thing, being pregnant. I have to admit that sometimes I feel a little like Superwoman. You know, like I can accomplish a million things and push through whatever I need to to accomplish what I need to. And then you start to grow a baby...and you don't feel like it so much. As much as you want to do everything you used to do...you realize it's just not what's best. Being the Young Women's President in my ward can be quite challenging. Those of you who know me, know what a control freak I am. I know I can do things right and efficient. But the facts are, I'm not Superwoman. She's a super hero and I am human. I have to depend on others and trust others to accomplish what needs to be accomplished. And low and behold, that's why there is a whole presidency for Young Women's. And that's why you have your best friend at your side in marriage and parenthood. And that's why you have co-workers who can take on a little bit more. I am feeling a little overwhelmed with gratitude today. It's been a long day, started with a 4:30am wake up with a sore throat. Went to a 7am meeting, 8am meeting and 9:30am meeting, getting home at 11:30am. I knew I needed some rest. Especially with the week I have coming up. So I had to rely on others to take care of things. I needed to be with my sick daughter and husband. I needed the extra rest. And that's hard to admit to myself. I have to take it easy sometimes. This baby needs it. So thanks to an awesome presidency, an AMAZING husband, great co-workers and fabulous friends. Thanks for being there for me when I needed you. Hopefully I am doing the same for you.

PS Completely devastated by Oklahoma's loss...don't even want to talk about it...

So Many Things to Share

It seems like Dixie getting tubes put in her ears started a list of events. The tubes went in a few weeks ago. Two days later, she fell off a swing and broke her collar bone. Three days later Paul and her got in a car accident and the Jetta is totaled. Talk about a crazy week. So since then, we have made a few adjustments.
Dixie was in a sling and a wrap. It was supposed to last 2 weeks but 1 was about all she could handle. It seems to have healed up pretty well and she's using it almost completely.
We bought a minivan. There was a little confusion as to why we bought a minivan since a lot of people just know that we have Dixie. I think almost everyone now knows that we are expecting our second baby in April of next year. With our two children and Jackson, when he returns from Brazil, we were debating what we should purchase. The minivan made the most sense. It seems a bit big now, especially with just me and Dixie, but April will come soon enough. We've given up our pride and are fully committed to parenthood. At least we got a Honda Odessey, which was what we wanted.
So we made some big steps. We'll be the parents of 3 kids. We are so excited. Of course, you always wonder about having another child when you spend 2 days only 2 days apart in the hospital with your first child. We should find out the sex of the baby next month. My belly is already pushing out a little bit and that makes me feel good.
On a side note, I had to set 5 goals with my boss a few months ago when he evaluated me. One of the goals I set was to do a weekly swim. We make our guards and head guards do a swim each week of 300 yards (100 yards freestyle, 100 yards breaststroke and then 100 yards of either) and then a brick swim. The brick swim is a 25 yard swim, dive down and pick up a 10 pound brick off the bottom of the deep end and hold it out of the water as you swim back to the wall. This has to be done in 1 minute 20 seconds or faster. The swim is also timed. I am shocked at how I kick a lot of my lifeguard's trash. I have one guard who has made it a goal to beat me. She has yet to do it and I'm 3 months pregnant. I am slowing down on my 300. My fastest was 4 minutes 47 seconds. Today I went 4 minutes 50 seconds. This guard went 5 minutes 3 seconds. So I like to tease her. Today I asked her how far along in my pregnancy I needed to be before she could finally beat me. But truth be told, I respect her for using me to push herself. Find something that motivates you and go for it. I was just thinking about that with my belly growing. At least my pants still fit, including the ones my sis sent me. Stretchy pants are not far away, however.
Now that I have gone on and on and on, here are some pictures to enjoy.
