Lindon Meet
We have been so busy busy busy since Jackson arrived. The time just keeps flying by! This morning he had his second official meet and it was at the Lindon Pool. Since it is Round Up week in Lehi and the parade was this morning, a lot of our team members were not in attendance at the meet. This made things move by very quickly. He was done with all 3 events by 9 am. This was his first outdoor meet so there were some difficulties adjusting to that. He kept his head in the water pretty well for freestyle. He dropped down to 31 seconds! He swam butterfly for the second time and got a legal time! For those of you not familiar with swimming lingo, that means he swam it correctly and did not get disqualified! (That sadly happened last week.) He also went 37 seconds on that, dropping 9 seconds from last week. I am so proud of him, of course, since butterfly was my specialty stroke. And it is amazing for kids to not get disqualified the second time racing it. Backstroke was a little more difficult since there was no ceiling to watch to go in a straight line. He was a bit all of over the lane, yet still dropped 4 seconds! All in all, he did such a great job. We're still encouraging practicing like you're racing and he has potential to really do well. So happy to have him here and enjoying seeing what physical strength and skills he has with athletics.

First Swim Meet
Jackson had his first swim meet yesterday. He had his first day of practice on Friday. For just one day practice, he did AWESOME! We put him in the 25 free and 25 back. I was worried about the free since he hadn't swam across without stopping in the lap pool. He did so great, not stopping once! First time? 45 seconds. We are so proud of him. His backstroke was 52 seconds. With some more practicing and more racing, he's going to just keep on improving.
Birthday
When I got to work on Monday morning I had little notes on my route to my office. When I got to my office, this is what I found.

Streamers on my door. These came off quick since I didn't think it looked too professional with patrons coming in my office.
We trimmed these streamers and they could still be up...reminder to self that I need to take them down.

This is the last of the little notes. I had a pan full of cupcakes with army men on top. A little joke referring to last year with my loving parents forgetting my birthday. I share my birthday with D-Day however and my dad remembered that! Love you Dad!

It was a busy day and a very busy week since it was the first week of summer break here in Utah. The start of new programs, a 2 day training to recertify my Certified Pool Operator, Jackson coming back from Brazil to be with us for the summer, and turning 30. Glad week one is done. I'm also glad summer doesn't last all year long. :)

The Dress
I've been wanting to post some pictures for a while now but one of them is an actual photograph that I need to scan and our scanner won't work for some reason so that one will not be included. Unless some family member has another copy of said picture and want to scan and email it to me. :) I had a baby shower the same weekend I was in Oklahoma for my sister's wedding while I was pregnant with Dixie. My mom gave me a gift of a dress that I had worn as a one year old. She also gave me a picture of me in it and it was in a 2 picture frame so that I could one day take a picture of Dixie in it and have them side by side. In Paul's family, nothing really gets kept so he was pretty surprised that my mom, 27 years later, still had said dress, let alone knew where to find it. Welcome to being a Clark. ;) Love you Mom. Anyways, Dixie has now worn this dress twice. The first time I realized it was a mini dress and she looked pretty funny running around in it with her stick legs. Hence, why she wore leggings under the second time. It's hard to get some pictures of this cute girl because she wants to grab the camera. But here are some of them.
"Hey"
Yeah, I know you are up to something with that sly smile!
Full view
Some more pigtails with matching black bows. She just looked so adorable today.
Typical Dixie trying to bust through the basement neighbors bedroom window.
The hair color. I like how I look ancient in this picture. Oh well, at least she was looking in the camera.
Thought I'd mention that not 5 minutes after this we went inside and Dixie decided to climb on our big chair in the living room and do a nose dive into the hard wood floor. She had the biggest goose egg on her forehead...or does have since I'm sure it will look even better tomorrow all black and blue.

Turning 30
Well in 2 days it is my 30th birthday. Thoughts? Feelings? Mostly I feel fine about it. A little old but not too bad. Today was my celebration day since my birthday is a work day. I had a "pamper" day. Went and got my hair colored and cut, got a pedicure and manicure with nail polish on my fingers. I always have a hard time with this because inevitably on the first day in the first few hours of having nail polish on my fingernails, I mess one up. It is so frustrating to me. So of course I have a few nails that are messed up already. But I will try to keep it longer than 24 hours. It was nice to have the morning to myself, get a little pampered and get a new hair do. I will try to post pictures on my actual birthday. I went to dinner tonight with some friends and just enjoyed my day. Monday, however, I fear will be a whole different story. It is the first day of summer schedule, which means hours are changing, swim team and swim lessons start and lots of people will be pissed. So I get to turn 30 and get yelled at a lot all in the same day! Okay, so maybe that won't happen...maybe. But pretty sure it will. Guess I hadn't posted in a while and had some thoughts, so there they are.
